  • Starting in May, you will begin receiving regular communication regarding your student’s transition. You will first receive a series of presentations from key offices and departments at LMU that provide you with critical resources, information and deadlines throughout the summer, as your student prepares to begin the academic year.

Check out a snapshot of these presentations below!

As preparations continue throughout the summer, Parent Pride will be your guide. Parent Pride is LMU’s online resource for parents and families, which features articles, helpful tips and other online tools that can aid you and your family during your student’s first year at LMU.

Be on the lookout for more helpful communication via Parent Pride throughout the summer and academic year, including a Parent and Family Summer Checklist to help you and your student stay on track for their arrival in August.

  • Orientation for students coming to LMU from abroad, begins on Friday, August 21, 2020. If your student is living on campus, please plan to arrive to LMU's campus between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to move into their residence hall. Students living off campus are expected to arrive by 2 p.m. at the latest to complete SEVIS registration, prior to the start of the formal program.

Students will be fully engaged in New International First-Year Student Orientation activities through Wednesday, August 26, and there is no obligation for you to remain in the area during this time. All students will then participate in First-Year New Student Orientation starting Thursday, August 27, as well as Welcome Weekend activities. We invite international families back to campus from August 27-29, to enjoy additional welcome events, which brings together the families of all new LMU students. We encourage those staying for these events to take a solo vacation locally, while their student is participating in International First-Year Student Orientation.
