Orientation: Fall 2020

Welcome to LMU! We are excited that you’ve decided to join LMU’s dynamic academic community. As you transition to life as a student at LMU, you and your family will receive support, guidance, and information from Orientation Programs on what you need to do in order to begin your journey as an LMU Lion.

Registration & Pre-arrival Preparation

As a new student, please check your email regularly for important registration and pre-arrival information. After your course evaluations have posted to PROWL, set-up an appointment with your academic advisor during your registration window to discuss course options and to register for fall semester classes.

New Student Move-in

New transfer students living in LMU Housing will be notified of their housing assignment and move-in day in mid-July. Visit the LMU Housing website to learn more about university housing options and the housing application process.

New Student Orientation

The LMU New Student Orientation experience includes online, on-demand orientation modules, livestream events, and campus welcome activities. Over the course of six weeks, you will have the opportunity to cultivate meaningful connections, build friendships, and utilize valuable resources.

New Student Orientation Schedule*

*The exact times and locations of Orientation sessions are subject to change. Please check back for updates on the timing of specific events.

  • All new students will be required to complete a series of online orientation modules that will explain important things you need to know before starting your first semester at LMU.

  • An official announcement regarding virtual orientation event offerings will provided in mid-July. The virtual event offerings will include a hangout with your Orientation Leader and other transfer students starting their first year at LMU.

  • Small-scale welcome events will be offered upon your arrival on campus. On-campus welcome activities for parents and families will be limited due to Los Angeles County Public Health guidelines.

Course Requirement: ORNT 2000

Your Orientation experience continues during an online course that provides an introduction to university life through interactive modules on a variety of critical topics. Please make sure you are registered for ORNT 2000 as this is a requirement for all new transfer students.
